Customers and visitors are bound by these general terms and conditions of sale (the “Terms”) and undertake to comply with them. Une Vie de Fête undertakes to make these Terms available before any order is confirmed.
Une Vie de Fête reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The version that applies is the one in force on the date of the order.
By accepting the Terms, the customer certifies that they have reached the age of majority in their country or have the permission of their legal representative before placing an order.
The customer is the holder of the payment method used to place an order or has the consent of its holder.
The customer agrees not to use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Une Vie de Fête reserves the right to remove any customer review that is abusive or incites hatred, in order to keep the space for discussion constructive.
Products are offered while stocks last.
Une Vie de Fête reserves the right to add, withdraw and change the items on sale without informing the site’s users beforehand.
Une Vie de Fête also reserves the right to put on sale items that do not yet have a product page. The product pages online may be corrected, changed or deleted.
It is the customer’s responsibility to contact the business at the following email address: contact@uneviedefete.fr to ask for information about the products before making a purchase.
All prices of the products offered by Une Vie de Fête are final prices, including the taxes applicable to the sale, unless otherwise stated. They are shown in the currency of the version of the shop you are using; prices in a currency other than the euro are converted from our euro prices using the European Central Bank reference exchange rate, then rounded. The price that applies, and the currency in which you are charged, are those shown in your basket when you confirm your order.
Une Vie de Fête reserves the right to change its prices at any time of the year, without notice or justification; the price shown when you confirm your order is the one that applies. Placing an order constitutes acceptance of the price.
A customer who bought a product at a higher price, before a price increase or the end of a temporary promotion, cannot rely on these variations to claim a refund of the difference.
The business may offer discount codes to customers. It makes no commitment as to how long discount codes remain valid or as to the discount rate offered.
Delivery is free for parcels shipped to Ireland and Malta. For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, taxes or clearance fees may be charged on receipt by the customs authority or the carrier of the destination country; they are not included in the price, unless otherwise stated when you order, and are payable by the recipient. For deliveries within the European Union, if your order is worth more than €150, VAT, any customs duties and carrier fees may be requested from you on delivery.
Une Vie de Fête reserves the right to refuse an order depending on the destination and the cost of delivery, and will inform the customer by email.
The customer can pay by the following methods:
By confirming the order, the customer authorises Une Vie de Fête to charge the bank account or PayPal account with the amount corresponding to the price of the order. Une Vie de Fête cannot be held responsible for a malfunction of the Stripe, PayPal or Klarna payment services.
In the event of non-payment or a payment problem, the customer is informed that the business may suspend or cancel the order. Delivery is subject to receipt of full and correct payment.
Une Vie de Fête operates a sales model without its own stock: products are selected from partner suppliers located in Europe and in China, and are shipped directly from their warehouses to the customer’s address. Une Vie de Fête remains the customer’s only point of contact for any question about the order, delivery or after-sales service.
We offer a selection of decorations and accessories for parties and life’s big moments: weddings, hen and stag parties, birthdays, baby showers, themed parties and celebrations throughout the year. Some of these items can be personalised (see Article 9 bis).
We choose our partners carefully, making sure they share our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
This way of working allows us to offer a wide range while keeping our prices competitive.
To ensure a smooth and efficient experience, our partners ship the products directly from their warehouses. They strive to provide reliable and secure deliveries.
We undertake to work only with suppliers who comply with the applicable European standards (CE marking where required) and high quality standards.
You do not need to create an account to place an order. The customer goes to https://uneviedefete.fr, selects the product or products of their choice and the quantity, and adds them to the basket.
Each item has its own product page. The photographs show the products as faithfully as possible, but some are given for illustration only and are not contractually binding.
By clicking the “Order with obligation to pay” button, the customer completes the purchase after entering their details. Orders are processed only once payment has been received and collected.
When completing their order, the customer enters the personal details needed to issue the invoice and for delivery.
The customer chooses a payment method, reads these Terms carefully and accepts them by ticking the box provided for this purpose. This box can never be ticked in advance.
Once the order has been confirmed and payment made, the customer receives by email:
The delivery time starts from receipt of the confirmation email.
As long as their order has not been shipped, the customer can cancel it by writing to contact@uneviedefete.fr and giving their order number.
Once the order has been shipped, it can no longer be cancelled, but the customer keeps their 14-day right to cancel, which they can exercise from the moment the order is placed until 14 days after receiving it (see Article 9). The customer also keeps any additional cancellation rights given to them by the consumer protection law of the country, province or state where they live.
If the order is cancelled or the right to cancel is exercised, Une Vie de Fête refunds the full amount paid, including the original delivery costs, no later than 14 days after the customer’s request.
Une Vie de Fête also reserves the right to refuse any order from a buyer for a legitimate reason, in accordance with Article L121-11 of the French Consumer Code.
This applies if the order is unusual or placed in bad faith, if there is a dispute with the buyer over the payment of a previous order, or for any other lawful reason.
The business informs the buyer of its decision without being obliged to give reasons for it.
Une Vie de Fête shows the estimated delivery time for each product on its product page. The delivery time starts from receipt of the order confirmation email.
Delivery times vary according to the product, the quantity ordered and the country from which the supplier ships. As a guide:
For personalised products, the production time shown on the product page is added to these times (see Article 9 bis).
These times may vary depending on product availability, transport conditions or possible customs checks. The delivery time that applies is the one shown on the product page; if no time is shown, the order is delivered no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded (Article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code). Une Vie de Fête remains responsible for the proper delivery of the order, including when it is entrusted to a carrier (Article L221-15 of the French Consumer Code).
Date of the event. The customer places their order taking into account the production and delivery times shown on the product page and in this article, in relation to the date of their event. Unless Une Vie de Fête has agreed in writing to a specific delivery date, the date of the event is not a guaranteed delivery date, and a late delivery cannot make Une Vie de Fête liable beyond the rights the customer has under the law, in particular the legal guarantees and the provisions of the French Consumer Code on late delivery (Articles L216-1 and following), which remain fully applicable.
The customer undertakes to give a precise and complete delivery address. Otherwise, Une Vie de Fête cannot be held responsible for a delivery problem.
If the order includes several items, there may be several different delivery dates.
When ordering, the customer can choose between home delivery and delivery to a pick-up point, depending on the options available for the product. If the chosen pick-up point is unavailable, Une Vie de Fête will redirect the parcel to the nearest alternative pick-up point. The customer will be informed by email and should check the details of the new pick-up point before going there. The parcel must be collected within the time allowed; otherwise it is returned to the sender.
If delivery is late, the order is not cancelled. Une Vie de Fête informs the buyer by email. In accordance with Article L216-2 of the French Consumer Code, the buyer may give Une Vie de Fête formal notice to deliver within an additional reasonable period, by email to: contact@uneviedefete.fr; if the order is still not delivered within that period, the buyer may terminate the contract and will be refunded all sums paid.
If non-delivery is confirmed, Une Vie de Fête carries out a check before any refund or reshipment. Une Vie de Fête is not liable if non-delivery results from a wrong address provided by the customer, from force majeure or from an unforeseeable event.
If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, the customer is invited to refuse delivery and note the reasons on the delivery slip. If it cannot be checked on delivery, we invite the customer to report any visible defect to us as soon as possible, ideally within 10 days, by email to contact@uneviedefete.fr, with photos. This recommended period in no way reduces the legal guarantee of conformity (2 years from delivery, Article 11) or the guarantee against hidden defects (Article 12).
Under Article 9 of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer customer has a cancellation period of 14 calendar days from the day after receiving the goods, without having to give any reason. If the period ends on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, it is extended to the next working day.
If the order includes several goods delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item. If you live outside the European Union, this 14-day right to cancel also applies to you under these Terms.
How to exercise your right to cancel:
Simply sending the product back without a prior statement, or refusing delivery, does not constitute a valid cancellation.
Returning the product:
Once the cancellation has been notified, Une Vie de Fête gives the customer, within 24 hours, the return address to use. This address is in France or in the customer’s country, depending on the product — the customer cannot be required to return the product directly to the supplier.
The customer has 14 days from sending their cancellation statement to return the product. Return costs are borne by the customer, unless Une Vie de Fête failed to inform them of this beforehand, in which case these costs are borne by Une Vie de Fête. The product must be returned complete (accessories, instructions), if possible in its original packaging.
Refund:
Une Vie de Fête makes the refund within 14 days of receiving the cancellation statement. However, Une Vie de Fête may withhold the refund until it has actually received the returned product or until proof that it has been sent.
The refund is made using the same payment method as was used for the purchase, at no extra cost. In case of delay, the increases provided for in Article L242-4 of the French Consumer Code apply.
Exceptions to the right to cancel:
Under Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code), the right to cancel does not apply to:
In accordance with Article L221-5 of the French Consumer Code, a model cancellation form is available to you; you do not have to use it. You can download it here.
The refund covers the full amount paid, including the original delivery costs (up to the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method we offer). If the returned product has been damaged or handled beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, Une Vie de Fête may deduct the resulting loss of value from the refund (Article 14(2) of Directive 2011/83/EU; Article L221-23 of the French Consumer Code), explaining why to the customer by email.
Some items are made to order using information provided by the customer: a first name, a text, a date, a photo or a design. These personalised products are identified as such on their product page and are subject to the following rules.
No right to cancel. Under Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU (Article L221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code), the right to cancel does not apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. A personalised product that matches the order therefore cannot be taken back, exchanged or refunded simply because the customer has changed their mind.
Checking the information. Before confirming their order, the customer checks the spelling, dates, characters (including accents, special characters and, where applicable, non-Latin characters), the colours chosen and the quality of the photos sent. The product is made exactly according to the information confirmed: an input error by the customer is not a defect in the product. If there is any doubt about a request, Une Vie de Fête contacts the customer before production.
Content we refuse. The customer guarantees that they hold the rights to the texts, photos and designs they send. Une Vie de Fête refuses any request that reproduces a protected trademark, logo, character or work, or the image of a person without their consent, as well as any abusive, discriminatory or unlawful content. If a request is refused, the order is cancelled and refunded in full.
Production time. Personalisation requires a production time, shown on the product page, which is added to the delivery time set out in Article 8. It is up to the customer to take this into account in relation to the date of their event.
Appearance. Shades, engravings, embroidery and prints may differ slightly from the preview shown on screen; this is not a defect.
Guarantees still apply. Personalised products remain covered by the legal guarantee of conformity (Article 11) and the guarantee against hidden defects (Article 12). An item that is faulty, damaged on delivery or different from the information approved by the customer will be replaced or refunded.
No gift cards are on sale on the site at the moment.
In accordance with Articles L217-3 to L217-20 of the French Consumer Code, which implement Directive (EU) 2019/771 on the sale of goods, every consumer benefits from a legal guarantee of conformity.
The legal guarantee of conformity protects the customer against all manufacturing defects in the product for 2 years from delivery of the goods.
It allows the customer to have non-conforming goods repaired or replaced or, failing that, to obtain a price reduction or a refund.
The legal guarantee of conformity covers defects in the goods themselves or in their packaging.
The legal guarantee of conformity applies to contracts for the sale of new physical goods.
If the customer finds a defect less than 2 years after delivery, they contact Une Vie de Fête’s support team, explaining the lack of conformity and attaching proof of purchase, such as an invoice.
Une Vie de Fête invites the customer to attach to their request photos or videos of the non-conforming product, to show and prove the lack of conformity.
In the event of a lack of conformity, the customer chooses between repair and replacement of the goods. We may not follow this choice if the remedy requested is impossible or would cost disproportionately more than the other; we will then offer the other remedy or, failing that, a refund of the product against its return, or a price reduction if the customer prefers to keep it. The shipping costs of bringing the goods into conformity are borne by us.
A refund or replacement will take place if, and only if, the defect found in the product is, under the law, a lack of conformity.
A defect resulting from a substantial modification made by the customer is not a lack of conformity.
In addition, the legal guarantee does not apply if the customer knew about the defect or the disputed characteristic at the time of purchase, or could not have been unaware of it at the time of purchase.
Information on the legal guarantees
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.
Where the contract for the sale of the goods provides for the supply of digital content or a digital service on a continuous basis for a period of more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the planned period of supply. During this period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service, not the date on which it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity obliges the trader, where applicable, to provide all the updates needed to keep the goods in conformity.
The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of their request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them.
If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the original guarantee.
If the consumer asks for the goods to be repaired but the seller insists on replacing them, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date the goods are replaced.
The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price by keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and be refunded in full against return of the goods, if:
The consumer is also entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. In that case, the consumer does not have to ask for the goods to be repaired or replaced first.
The consumer is not entitled to terminate the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are out of use while being repaired or replaced suspends the remaining guarantee period until the goods are returned in working order.
The rights set out above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code, which governs the contract, and are without prejudice to any more favourable mandatory rules of the country where you live.
A seller who obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to up to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for a period of two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund against return of the goods.
Under Article 1641 of the French Civil Code (Code civil), the seller is bound by a guarantee against hidden defects in the goods sold that make them unfit for their intended use, or that reduce that use so much that the buyer would not have bought them, or would have paid less for them, had they known about them.
The legal guarantee against hidden defects allows the customer to obtain a full or partial refund and compensation if the product has caused harm.
The customer can also obtain a replacement of the goods.
The guarantee applies provided that all 3 of the following conditions are met:
The legal guarantee lasts 2 years from discovery of the defect.
If a hidden defect is discovered, the customer contacts Une Vie de Fête’s support team, explaining the situation and stating the type of refund and the compensation they would like.
Any request must be accompanied by proof of purchase.
It is for the customer to prove that the hidden defect exists.
As a professional seller is presumed to know about the defects in the goods sold, the customer may also claim compensation for the harm caused by the defect (Article 1645 of the French Civil Code).
Une Vie de Fête undertakes to act in good faith in the event of a hidden defect in a product or a lack of conformity, by explaining personally the applicable procedure to any customer who wishes to rely on a legal guarantee.
Une Vie de Fête collects the personal data needed to process orders: surname, first name, delivery address, email address, telephone number, and payment data processed through Stripe, PayPal and Klarna. These data are processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
The processing is based on the performance of the sales contract and on the seller’s legal obligations. The data are not sold to third parties.
They may be passed to the service providers responsible for performing the contract: carriers, payment platforms (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna) and the partner suppliers responsible for shipping.
Transfers of data outside the European Union: under our sales model without stock (dropshipping), some data needed for shipping (name, delivery address) may be passed to suppliers located outside the European Union, in particular in Asia.
In accordance with the GDPR, every customer has the right to access, rectify, port, object to and erase their data, which they can exercise by writing to: contact@uneviedefete.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority of the country where you live or with the French CNIL.
The data are kept for the duration of the business relationship and then for 3 years from the last contact, unless the law requires otherwise. Accounting documents (invoices) are kept for the period required by law.

All the business’s obligations under this sales contract will be suspended in the event of force majeure, in accordance with Article 1218 of the French Civil Code.
Une Vie de Fête undertakes to inform the buyer of any event of force majeure that could hinder or delay the proper performance of the contract.
If any clause is found not to comply with a provision of French law in force, the clause will be deemed not to have been written.
In no case will this make the other clauses, or these general terms and conditions of sale as a whole, void.
In the event of a dispute about an order, Une Vie de Fête and the customer undertake to settle it amicably. The customer can contact the support team at contact@uneviedefete.fr. Une Vie de Fête undertakes to reply within 15 working days.

These general terms and conditions of sale are governed by French law. This choice does not deprive a consumer customer who lives in another country of the European Union of the protection afforded to them by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country (Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, “Rome I”). If you live outside the European Union, it likewise does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country, province or state.
If a dispute could not be resolved amicably, all disputes relating to these Terms will be submitted to the competent court in accordance with the laws and regulations in force and the nature of the dispute.
The consumer may bring proceedings before the French courts or before the courts of the place where they live; if the consumer lives in the European Union, Une Vie de Fête may bring proceedings against them only before the courts of the country where they are domiciled (Article 18 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012).
The Une Vie de Fête website is published in accordance with French law.
This clarification does not reduce any of the consumer customer’s rights set out in these Terms.
